Become a volunteer at the SPA de Haguenau & Environs

The commitment of our volunteers allows the SPA de Haguenau & Environs to work for the protection of animals as well as to ensure the care, safety and happiness of our animals. Being a volunteer at the shelter means being part of a team of passionate people and is synonymous with personal enrichment and beautiful experiences. It is also an opportunity to get involved in an non-profit organisation with strong values and to be able to improve the life of animals.

Take part in the shelter’s activities

Everyone can help us in their own way: becoming a volunteer is one way to support us. Indeed, the shelter operates thanks to the volunteers who are involved in all the missions of the organisation and who are necessary for its smooth running. Our members’ commitment is all the more essential as it allows the SPA de Haguenau & Environs to achieve its objectives and to carry out its fights. Therefore, we are looking for motivated people who are ready to get involved in the organisation and who have a great interest in animals.

What are the volunteer’s missions?

There are several ways to join in the life of our organisation. You can do this by:

  • Helping the shelter on a daily basis by doing some cleaning, tidying up or minor repairs, mainly in the morning.
  • Visiting, playing or cuddling our cats while they are waiting to be adopted by a loving family.
  • Taking part in the walks of our dogs up for adoption after attending a mandatory training session with a dog trainer at the shelter. He will teach and show you how to best manage the different situations we may be faced while being with the dogs. You will be asked to pay a compensation to be allowed to participate in the training. Our staff will send you a document with the different available training dates at the time of your registration.
  • Joining our team dedicated to animal cruelty or neglect cases to conduct investigations related to animal abuse. This mission allows the SPA de Haguenau & Environs to intervene as soon as possible. To carry out this task, it is necessary to have strength of character, to be tenacious and accommodating, to know how to keep your composure and to have a team spirit. If you think you fit this profile, apply now! We will discuss your motivation with you during an interview.

Do you share our values and are you interested in these missions? Join our volunteers by becoming a member of the SPA de Haguenau & Environs.

How to become a volunteer and get involved in our shelter? Joining our team is a 4-step process:

Volunteer 4 First, print and fill in our registration form.

Volunteer 5 You will then have to read, print and sign our rules and regulations

Volunteer 6 The last step to become a volunteer and receive your membership card is to meet us.

During your interview, you will have to:

  • give us your registration form and the signed rules and regulations
  • provide us with proof of your liability insurance,
  • pay the current year’s dues per person.

All these documents will allow us to give you your membership card for the current year and integrate you into our team. Once you are a member of the SPA de Haguenau & Environs, the person in charge of the new volunteers Mrs Gabi Grandiz will introduce you to the shelter and our animals. She will be your referent during all your voluntary work and will answer your various questions.

If you have any further questions about the registration process, please contact us via our contact form or visit us at the shelter during our opening hours and ask for Mrs Gabi Grandiz.
