Cat Adoption Process and Fees
A responsible and thoughtful cat adoption process is something that matters to our shelter. The SPA de Haguenau & Environs thanks you for choosing the shelter for this act of love.
How does the cat adoption process work?
To help our employees process the applications, please fill out our cat adoption application form before any meeting and/or adoption of the organisation’s protégés. Please send it back to us by email at spa.hag.chats@gmail.com. It allows us to know you better in order to determine if the cat you wish to adopt will enjoy the living conditions and atmosphere you will provide.
Once we get back your form, you will be welcomed by our animal experts or head volunteers who will do their best to give you advice during a meeting. They will make sure your lifestyle is suitable to your new friend.
An adoption contract will be submitted to you after a meeting with the cat and the approval of an animal expert or head volunteer so you can sign it. In addition, you will receive an introductory booklet as well as your new pet’s health record booklet. For difficult cats or adoptive families who already have pets, you can choose instead a pre-adoption contract called “adjustment period”.
Our cats go to their new home:
- microchipped,
- vaccinated (first vaccination against typhus, coryza and rabies),
- sterilised or neutered.
Documents needed for adoption:
Here are the documents you will need to adopt a cat at the SPA of Haguenau & Environs:
- an identity document,
- a recent proof of address (gas bill, telephone, etc.),
- a proof of liability insurance.
Contributions* to the adoption fees:
For a cat male of female | 200€ |
For a LOF cat | 400 € |
Future vaccines will be paid by the adopter.
* It is a contribution, as the SPA of Haguenau & Environs takes care of the chipping, vaccination and desexing fees.
